2024 Major Accomplishments

Posted on April 9, 2025

In 2024 we had numerous groups of 50 to 200 riding the Little Rice ATV Trails. The State of Wisconsin shows we have over 520,310 ATV/UTV machines registered.  We definitely had our share counting the number of riders on the Iron Gate Road.  In the months of June, July and August the County counted over 2,000 machines each month riding our trail system.

Major Accomplishments in 2024:

  1. A Grant to rehab Trail #5 was granted.  The trail goes from Kelly Fire Lane to McCord Road.  Rynders Excavating was awarded the bid with the exception that the bid came in more than the funding grant.  There is a good possibility that the DNR will add the $40,000 that was short.
  2. Oneida County Forestry was also asking for funds to rehab Trail #6 which is Lammar Springs Road North 1 ½ miles. The State ran out of money and this rehap will be pushed into 2026 unless additional funding comes available.
  3. Burrows Lake Trail #4 Boardwalk Bridges were re-decked by Larsen Construction and did a great job.
  4. The John Deere Model 6155 Tractor did arrive and replaced the small New Holland Tractor.
  5. Our New Holland 6050 Tractor electrical system was updated and a complete maintenance overhaul was completed.
  6. Our Caterpillar Grader was rehab with a new radiator and brackets.
  7. Maintenance hours to maintain the Little Rice funded trails for 2024 were 606 hours, this does not include maintaining our equipment. You are looking at over 15 –  40  hour work weeks.

We would not we able to complete all of the above if it wasn’t for the: Volunteers, Members, Sponsors and Fund Raisers.
